This weekend I wasn't one I spent at the theatre, instead it was on the couch binging Daredevil. Magnificent second season, I was blown away! However I did get a chance to see Allegiant, actually not a terrible movie. It has the same problems as the other two in the series but I resepct the balls Lionsgate had in their adaptation. Their next movie Ascendant should be an orignial script fot the most part and I am looking forward to it.

But seriously Check out Daredevil right now if you haven't, excellent second season!

Zootopia

     Watching Zootopia is like drinking a great hot chocolate on the first day of winter. Its warm, fresh, and familiar, all the things Zootopia takes pride in being. Zootopia is Disney's take on a buddy cop movie with a couple of twists. The first twist is that everybody in Zootopia is anthropomorphic, meaning they act essentially as humans, and they have developed a society in which every animal is equal...except not really. This brings the discussion of racial issues in society into the discussion for a movie that is pretty much just a fun investigative adventure. This makes the movie incredibly mature at the cost of making its message in no way subtle. In the end Zootopia was a great treat but nothing that blew my socks off. I laughed a good amount, had a great time with the story, and the movies surprising depth will give me and many others something to come back too.
