There is an "upside" to the film The Upside, this years January dramady. Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston share an onscreen chemistry that lays the groundwork for some wholesome interactions throughout the run time. Unfortunately with an upside comes the implication of silver lining in a sky of stormy weather. The Upiside reflects this metaphor by burying its leads chemistry behind sloppy filming, poor pacing, questionable character actions, and cliche story beats. The greatest shame is that Kevin Hart's comedy shines when he's more subdued making him more constantly funny then he has been in a movie in a long time (yes I include Jumanji).
